The practice — How it works

Process · Approach · Your GP

A clear plan, one gentle step at a time.

From a free 20-minute call to a tool bag you keep for life: here’s exactly what happens, how long each part takes, and how I work alongside your GP.

No. 01 — The road back to you

Healing isn’t a straight line. It isn’t a guessing game either.

Every programme follows the same gentle path, shaped around you. Where you start and how quickly you move depends on your body, not on a template.

  1. Stop one

    Where you are now

Unwell, exhausted and out of answers. The tests say “normal” — your body says otherwise.

  2. Stop two

    Understand

We look closely at your history, symptoms and lifestyle to find what’s really going on.

  3. Stop three

    Heal & repair

Calm inflammation, soothe digestion and support the gut lining with food and targeted nutrition.

  4. Stop four

    Rebuild

Strengthen, reintroduce and fill your tool bag with the know-how to manage any symptoms.

  5. Stop five

    Where you’ll be

Energy back, a happy tummy and your life back — with a plan you understand and trust.

No. 02 — The process

Six steps

From first call to your tool bag.

What you do, what I do, and roughly when. Nothing happens without you understanding why.

    How often

Depends on the programme — compare them

  6. Your tool bag

You finish knowing your patterns, your soothing foods and exactly what to do on a flare day.

    When

By the end — and for long after

No. 03 — The approach

What nutritional therapy is, and what it isn’t.

It’s easy to confuse with a diet plan or a diagnosis. It’s neither — here it is, plainly.

It is

  • A whole-person approach that looks at your diet, lifestyle, history and symptoms together
  • Evidence-informed and personal
  • Designed to work alongside your GP

It isn’t

  • A diagnosis
  • A replacement for medical care
  • A one-size-fits-all meal plan
  • A lifelong restrictive diet

No. 04 — Working with your GP

Your GP stays in the loop.

I’ll always encourage you to keep your GP in the loop. If anything you tell me suggests something that needs medical investigation, I’ll ask you to see your GP first.

Always a doctor’s job first

  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Blood in your stool
  • Difficulty swallowing

Testing

Functional testing (for example a stool test) can be arranged where it would genuinely help — never as a default. Costs are separate and always discussed with you first.

No. 05 — Questions

All questions

Before the first call.

The practical things people want to know before they book.

What happens on the free discovery call?

It’s a relaxed 20-minute chat by phone or Zoom. You tell me what’s going on, I ask a few questions, and if I think I can help I’ll suggest a way in. If I don’t think I’m the right person, I’ll say so — and point you somewhere better if I can.

How soon can we start?

Usually within one to two weeks of your call.

Can we work together online?

Yes. Every programme is available on Zoom, and group sessions are online by design — so you can join from wherever suits you.

Do I need to buy lots of supplements?

No. Food comes first. Where a supplement could genuinely help, I’ll explain why, suggest a specific option and a time limit, and check it’s safe alongside any medication. You’re never obliged to buy anything.

Step one

Start with a conversation.

Twenty minutes, by phone or Zoom. We’ll talk about where you are and whether we’re a good fit — no pressure, no obligation.
