What happens, step by step.

No mystery and no surprises. Here’s exactly what working together looks like, how long each part takes, and what you’ll have at the end.

The six steps

What you do, what I do, and when.

Every programme follows this path. The 1:1 Consultation covers steps one to four plus one follow-up; the 6- and 12-week programmes go all the way to your tool bag.

  1. Free discovery call

20 min · phone or Zoom

We talk through where you are, what you’ve tried and whether we’re a good fit. No pressure, no obligation.

    What you do
Tell me what’s going on and what you’ve already tried. There’s nothing to prepare.
    What Clare does
Asks a few questions and, if she can help, suggests a way in. If she isn’t the right person, she’ll say so and point you somewhere better.
    When
At a time that suits you. Clare replies to booking requests within 2 working days.
  2. Questionnaire & food diary

    About an hour

A detailed health questionnaire and a 3-day food and symptom diary. There are no wrong answers.

    What you do
Fill in the questionnaire and keep a 3-day food and symptom diary. Be honest: it’s not a test.
    What Clare does
Reads everything before you meet, so your session starts from what matters to you.
    When
Sent a week before your first session.
  3. Your consultation

75–90 min · in person or Zoom

An unhurried session that’s entirely about you: your health history, digestion, energy, sleep, stress and what a normal day really looks like.

    What you do
Talk. Bring your questions and anything that’s been worrying you.
    What Clare does
Listens, asks and starts joining the dots between your symptoms, your plate and your life.
    When
75 minutes on the 1:1 Consultation; 90 minutes to open the 6- and 12-week programmes.
  4. Your personalised plan

    Within 5 working days

Food, lifestyle and (where appropriate) supplement recommendations, written for your real life, with recipes and a shopping list.

    What you do
Read it, ask anything that isn’t clear, and start with the first small changes.
    What Clare does
Writes a plan that fits around family, work and busy weeks — never a second full-time job.
    When
Within 5 working days of your consultation.
  5. Check-ins & adjustments

    As your body responds

We review what’s working, adjust as your body responds and troubleshoot any flares, so you’re never left wondering if you’re doing it right.

    What you do
Tell me what’s changed, what’s hard and how any flares went.
    What Clare does
Adjusts the plan, answers questions and helps you through the tricky weeks.
    When
    A 30-minute follow-up two weeks later (1:1). Weekly 30-minute check-ins (6 and 12 weeks), plus fortnightly coaching on the 12 weeks.
  6. Your tool bag

    Yours to keep

You finish knowing your patterns, your soothing foods and exactly what to do on a flare day.

    What you do
Keep using what works, with the confidence to handle a wobble on your own.
    What Clare does
Makes sure you leave able to manage on your own. On the 12 weeks, that includes your personal symptom “tool bag” guide.
    When
By the end of your programme, and long after it.

Clear expectations

What nutritional therapy is, and isn’t.

It helps to know exactly what you’re signing up for — and what you’re not.

What it is

  • A whole-person approach that looks at your diet, lifestyle, history and symptoms together
  • Evidence-informed and personal
  • Designed to work alongside your GP

What it isn’t

  • A diagnosis
  • A replacement for medical care
  • A one-size-fits-all meal plan
  • A lifelong restrictive diet

Working with your GP

I’ll always encourage you to keep your GP in the loop. If anything you tell me suggests something that needs medical investigation, I’ll ask you to see your GP first. For example:

  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Blood in your stool
  • Difficulty swallowing

Please don’t stop or change any medication without speaking to your GP.

Testing

Functional testing (for example a stool test) can be arranged where it would genuinely help — never as a default.

Costs are separate and always discussed with you first.

Before you start

A few practical questions.

All questions
Do I need a diagnosis before working with you?

No. Many clients come to me after tests have come back “normal” or inconclusive. I’ll always encourage you to keep your GP in the loop, and if anything suggests you need further medical investigation, I’ll tell you.

How soon can we start?

Usually within one to two weeks of your call.

Do I need to buy lots of supplements?

No. Food comes first. Where a supplement could genuinely help, I’ll explain why, suggest a specific option and a time limit, and check it’s safe alongside any medication. You’re never obliged to buy anything.

Can we work together online?

Yes. Every programme is available on Zoom, and group sessions are online by design — so you can join from wherever suits you.

Step one takes 20 minutes.

A free, relaxed call by phone or Zoom. You’ll come away knowing whether we’re a good fit and which way in makes sense.
